Born into a family of artist architects in 1968 in Braşov, Transylvania, Alina is a french artist, model and mother of 3 jewels : Paola, Michelle and Jérôme. She is based now in Paris, France.
After hearing a thousand times « you can t make a living from art » and « here it s not your place », she graduated in 2005 from the Haute Ecole de Joaillerie in Paris. Just before graduating, two of her human-sized jewelry designs were nominated to enter the HRD Diamonds Awards, a biennal international diamond jewelry contest, considered by many to be the premiere contemporary diamond jewelry design competition in the world, with focus on extravagance and avant-garde. Her designs were chosen by a professional jury among 850 designs, submitted by 490 artists, under the theme « Diamonds are Fun ». Two years later, 698 designers submitted 1092 drawings for the HRD Awards 2007 – « A Night at the Opera ». Alina’s « Invincible Cape » shaped by hand in iron chicken wire and set with 574 rough, pearl drops and cubes cut diamonds ( 983.57ct ) won the First International Prize.
